PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT: America’s Choice Health Insurance

It's been awhile since we've offered a new product, and we are excited to have an alternative to high-cost ACA, limited short-term medical (STM) policies and expensive Small Group plans. In the past the alternative was a STM in states that allowed them. However, those are becoming obsolete due to new federal regulations making them even more difficult to get and keep.

WHO MAY LIKE THIS INSURANCE 

• Clients in Illinois who are losing STM products 

• Clients in Colorado who have never had STM products available 

• Self-employed small businesses are ideal 

• People who don’t qualify for a subsidy on the Marketplace may pay less 

The new product, America’s Choice, is permanent insurance. There is no need to renew the plan or change it – only during Open Enrollment or a Special Enrollment Period.  Also, the plans are less expensive than other types of plans. 

They are a hybrid between Group, Marketplace/Individual and Short-Term Medical plans with attributes from all three.  

Key Points:  

• There are two broad PPO networks available 

• There are 12 plan choices including HSA and limited benefit options 

• This is not for everyone - like some insurance coverage, there is underwriting in the form of 11 medical questions, and you can be denied  

• This is considered Minimum Essential Coverage including preventive and maternity care 

• This is permanent insurance – no specific enrollment periods and can enroll anytime 

• Ideal for small business owners or licensed professionals 

• Not available in CA, OR, NH, VT and WA
